Family Description:
Includes annual or perennial herbs with alternately arranged leaves and racemose inflorescences. Flowers hermaphrodite and actinomorphic, with 4 sepals, 4 petals and 6 stamens. The ovary is superior and the fruit is a siliqua or silicula that usually open by two dehiscent valves. Many species are naturalised weeds.
