Habit:

Annual, prostrate shrub with stems to 15 cm ¹

Distinguishing characteristics (within family/genus):

Sepals are persistent and less than 4 mm long, petals are less than 7 mm long. The fruit is an ovoid (not cylindric) capsule and flowers are separated along flowering stems. Leaves are usually scattered along branches ¹
