Introduced species. Found on sandy and saline soils near the coast and inland ¹

Distinguishing characteristics (within family/genus):

The native species Carpobrotus rossii is also found in the prom, Carpobrotus aequilaterus is distinguished from this species by the lack of a white section at the base of the petals ²
