Red algae with erect thalli to 40 cm high, attached by discoid to rhizoidal to encrusting holdfasts. Thalli sparingly to highly branched in all directions or bilateral. Branches cylindrical or flat

The thallus is erect, axes with 4 pericentral cells 1
