Distinguishing characteristics (within family/genus):
The leaves of this species are opposite, 5-25 mm long and sometimes lobed. Male and females flowers are separate. Male flowers are sessile with 4 sepals and 4 red petals. Female flowers have triangular sepals, no petals and red stigmas
